Asset taxonomy
Two assets can share price exposure while differing in contract, issuer, bridge, validator, legal rights, custody, liquidity, or redemption.

A wrapped asset can share economic exposure with a native reference asset while depending on a separate contract or custodian. A stablecoin bridged to another chain can target the same price while adding bridge risk. A liquid-staking token can represent staked principal while trading at a discount during stress.
Use one layer for instrument identity and another for analytical groupings. This lets a portfolio answer how much ETH-linked exposure exists without pretending native ETH, wrapped ETH, LP shares, and staking receipts are identical or equally liquid.
